Notes from testing
The Axolotl is the Lake's Legendary, and it is the best pet most players can get from the first two biomes. It earns well over half again as much as the Forest's Legendary, Brr Brr Patapim.
The catch is the hatch time: Legendary eggs take minutes, not seconds. Put an Axolotl egg in your pen before you leave to farm elsewhere, so the wait does not feel slow.
Its base weight is light, so a heavy Axolotl gets a big weight boost. A Golden or Rainbow Axolotl is a top early pet that stays useful well into the Desert and Jungle.
